Enjoy an easy and delicious smoothie bowl within minutes. This Triple Berry Smoothie Bowl will become a favorite in your house!
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m in need of something new and different for breakfast. Lately I’ve gotten into a rut. Always two cups of coffee and some toast. It’s the same thing every. single. day. I’ve been seeing these smoothie bowls all around the web, but never really got the appeal.
I wondered why someone would put a smoothie into a bowl and eat it with a spoon. Then I made my very own smoothie bowl and I got it. I get what all the hype’s about. It’s a delicious, creamy bowl of goodness. It’s like having ice cream in the morning, without all the guilt. I also couldn’t believe how easy it was to make. I’m always on the look for some easy breakfast recipes because when the kids are in school life is always hectic. I can promise you that this smoothie bowl will be making an appearance a lot in our home. Especially when the kids are in school.
You know what else is good with this smoothie bowl?? The toppings! Yep you heard me right. The toppings make or break this bowl in my opinion. Any one can make a smoothie, but it’s what you top it with that takes this bowl to the next level.
When I was shopping at Wal-Mart last week, I saw these delicious Great Grains Cereals. They have five different flavors: Raisins, Dates & Pecans, Cranberry Almond Crunch, Crunchy Pecans, Banana Nut Crunch and Blueberry Morning. I knew I wanted to try the Blueberry Morning cereal because I wanted something healthy and hearty for breakfast. This cereal is also a wholesome balance of ingredients. Yum!
I liked the idea of adding cereal to my smoothie bowl because it gives it that nice crunch. You could totally add granola, but I love the taste and crunchiness of this particular cereal. I also love adding in fresh fruit and some sweetened coconut to give it that little bit of umph.
I have to tell you that I was nervous when I made this for the kids. I thought they would look at me like I’m crazy, but you know what? That loved it. Even my picky 8 year old went crazy for this smoothie bowl. She loved the cereal and blueberries the most.
Now I’m excited to try different flavor smoothies and toppings. The list can be endless. Yay for a healthy but fun breakfast!!
