So the New Year is all about getting into shape and losing that left over Christmas weight, right?

Fruity Green Smoothie {or Gray Smoothie} l My Kitchen Craze

Today, I wanted to share one of my favorite smoothies, Fruity Green Smoothie or as my hubby calls it, the Gray Smoothie. I have numerous smoothie recipes that I love, but this one is on the top of my favorites list. I know what your thinking, “Cyndi, you are cray cray (yes, I said that. I have an 11 year so I need to be a cool mom) cause your smoothie doesn’t look green at all.” It’s more of a grayish purple-y color, but it is delicious and healthy for you!

I know you can search the web and see a thousand “actual” green smoothies, but I just am not to fond of them. I do have a green smoothie that I really like. I’ll share that with you one day, but today I wanted to share my Fruity Green-ish Smoothie.

The reason this smoothie looks the way it does is because I do add some spinach to the blender, but I also love to add fresh fruit. That’s what makes it turn this grayish color. I always put strawberries, bananas and my new favorites are frozen pineapple and some blackberries. I just love blackberries. They are so sweet and have a little bit of a crunch from the seeds, but not extremely noticeable.

Now since my hubby and I are going to Cabo in a couple of weeks, I really wanted to diet and work out. I wanted feel good while wearing a bikini. That didn’t work out so well, but whatever I am not stressing about it. Since the plan was to have smoothies for breakfast or lunch I really wanted to get a new blender. We have gone through a couple blenders and they always seem to break and just don’t do the job. So I researched some online (yes, I am a total researcher and review girl) and the best on the market right now is this Vitamix 750 profession series.

You guys! This is an amazing piece of machinery. I am in love. BTW, this is my Christmas gift. Pretty cool gift huh?

So I knew that the first time I used this blender I needed to make it something good. I whipped up my favorite Fruity Green Smoothie and was in heaven. This smoothie is so creamy and has the perfect flavor combo. Now if you like your smoothies to taste more on the sweet side, you can totally add a tablespoon of honey, but I just love having the natural fruit taste, added with the spinach and almond milk.

It is the perfect drink to sub for a meal or that post-workout drink. I just love it and I hope you all do to. 🙂
